Community Guidelines

BarChata is a community built around real places, real people, and real experiences. These guidelines exist to keep the platform safe, welcoming, and useful for everyone — customers, venue owners, and partners alike.
1. Be Authentic
Use your real identity. Don’t impersonate other people, businesses, or organizations. Your check-ins, reviews, and posts should reflect genuine experiences. Fake activity undermines the entire community.
2. Be Respectful
Treat everyone with respect. Harassment, bullying, hate speech, discrimination, threats, and personal attacks are not tolerated — in posts, comments, messages, or any other content on the platform.
3. Keep It Real
Don’t post misleading content. Don’t manipulate check-ins, fake visits to earn Hearts, or use bots or automated tools. Don’t create multiple accounts to game the loyalty system. If we detect fraudulent activity, your account and Hearts may be permanently removed.
4. No Illegal or Harmful Content
Do not post content that is illegal, promotes violence, glorifies self-harm, or facilitates illegal activity. Do not share others’ personal information without their consent. Do not post content that exploits or endangers minors in any way.
5. Respect Venues & Businesses
Venue reviews and ratings should be honest and fair. Don’t post reviews for businesses you haven’t visited. Don’t threaten businesses with negative reviews in exchange for free goods or services. Venue owners should not pressure customers to leave positive reviews.
6. Advertising & Spam
Don’t use BarChata for unsolicited advertising, spam, or promotional schemes outside the official advertising tools. Businesses have access to BarAds for legitimate promotion — use it.
7. Intellectual Property
Don’t post content you don’t have the right to share. Respect copyright, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights. If you believe your content has been used without permission, contact us.
8. Safety
If you see something that concerns you — whether it’s abusive behavior, suspicious activity, or content that violates these guidelines — report it. We take every report seriously and investigate promptly.
9. Enforcement
Violations of these guidelines may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban, depending on severity. Repeated violations will result in escalating consequences. BarChata reserves final discretion on all enforcement decisions.
